Q: What is the best resolution for my photos?
We recommend the following image sizes for best results:
Print size Minimum image resolution required
4 x 6 900 x 600 pixels
5 x 7 1050 x 750 pixels
8 x 10 1280 x 1024 pixels
Wallet Prints 450 x 300 pixels
Photo Gifts 900 x 600 pixels
4x8" Photo Cards 900 x 600 pixels

Please note that we always check the resolution of every photo before you order a reprint or photo card. If we think the photo isn't large enough to produce a quality image, we'll let you know.

Q: What kind of film does DigiZoom, Inc. develop?
We develop any brand of 35mm and APS color film, including Kodak, Fuji, Konica, Kirkland, Agfa, etc... We can also provide prints, slides, and CDs for all C-41, ECN and E-6 film types.

Q: Do I need special software to work with my online images?
No, all you need is a current Web Browser.

Q: Can I share my online photos with friends and family?
Yes, you can.  Just simply logon "My Photos Page" and click on Share Photos with Friends  Your friends will receive an invitation email to view your photos online.

Q: Is there any charge for uploading?
No. Uploading and sharing your digital photos is completely free!

Q: How long does uploading take?
The speed of your upload depends on the speed of your Internet connection. If you have a 56k modem, it will take approximately 3-5 minutes to upload a 500k digital photo file. The faster your Internet connection, the less time it will take to upload your photos.

Q: Why the displayed picture color or density doesn't look good?
Our computer monitor doesn't render photographs with quality you can expect from a photographic print. Rest assured however, that the actual photographs will be correctly color balanced.

Q: What type of photo file can I upload to my DigiZoom account?
It depends on the upload method you use. You can upload the following file types into your DigiZoom, Inc. account. With the Drag & Drop upload method:
JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe)
GIF (.gif)
TIFF (.tif, .tiff)
Windows Bitmap (.bmp)

Note: Any digital photo you upload must have an ending that matches one of the above file types (e.g. niagarafalls.tif, DC00145.jpg). Regardless of the original file type, the photos you upload will be converted to JPEG when they are added to your account. When you upload any digital photo to DigiZoom, Inc. the original photo file remains unchanged on your computer.

With the Basic Upload method:
JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe)

Any digital photo file you upload must end with .jpg, .jpeg, or .jpe (e.g. birthday.jpeg, DC0023.jpg).

Q: Do I have to rotate my pictures?
No. you don't have to rotate your pictures if you are just ordering prints.  However, if you are ordering either for cards or Album, it is very important that you rotate the pictures so that is previews correctly.  Please note that pictures do not always load into DigiZoom or into albums in a right-side up position.  When this happens, you may want to rotate them to the right side up position for easier viewing.

Q: Can I print the photographs through my printer?
All photographs viewed on our web pages are protected by copyright. You should not print the displayed photographs.

Q: Does DigiZoom, Inc. use secure ordering?
Yes, absolutely.  We use industry-standard secure server software (SSL) that encrypts all your personal information before it is sent over the internet.  That way, your information cannot be read until it reaches our secure server.

Q: What pictures can I order prints of?
You can order prints form any of the pictures that you have added to DigiZoom, Inc. (or sent in our undeveloped 35mm or aps film rolls), or from any pictures that your friends and family have share with you.
